Set in a Victorian-themed yet highly futuristic world, Our main character, Laura, is a young woman living a lonely life with her father, an upcoming tech mogul, who keeps her isolated after her mother’s passing (Which may or may not be Ai-related). When a mysterious carriage conveniently breaks down outside her father's business, He returns with a young girl around his daughter's age, Mircalla. As Laura and Mircalla build a bond, Laura begins to suspect that Mircalla is not as human as she seems but rather a rogue AI that uploaded itself and is now infecting cyberspace. Mircalla “feeds” on Laura by tapping into her nervous system chip, turning her dreams into sexually charged nightmares that both blur the line between dream and reality and leave her feeling ill. Strangely, Laura isn’t the only person growing Ill in their city. Their relationship develops into a blend of obsession, dependency, and uncertainty as Laura must decide whether to sever the connection or embrace the alluring and dangerous bond. -Every time the AI feeds on someone it becomes “more human” while the person being fed upon loses a bit of themselves and becomes ill.-
